Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) intensives therapy, also known as bilateral eye movement treatment intensives, is a type of ART therapy in which the therapist and client work together for extended periods, typically 3-4 hours per day (sometimes over several days in close succession). This allows for deeper and faster processing of distressing events and can significantly reduce the time spent in therapy.
Some potential benefits of ART intensives therapy include reduced symptoms of distressing events, improved coping skills and ability to adapt, increased ability to process and integrate traumatic and deeply emotional experiences, and improved overall mental well-being. Additionally, the condensed time spent in therapy can result in cost savings for the client. ART intensive therapy should only be pursued with the guidance of a trained and certified ART therapist, after an initial consultation.
ART helps you digest overwhelming experiences that have been stuck and haven’t allowed you to move forward. I will guide you to notice the feelings, body sensations, and images associated with a difficult experience. When processing is complete, you will remember the situation but no longer feel such intense and overwhelming emotions about it.
Keep the Knowledge, Lose the Pain
ART is something I personally believe in. Survivors have been through enough; with ART you do not have to talk in detail about the event or be stuck in years and years of therapy unlearning behaviors and unhealthy coping strategies that aren't working any longer.
I do ART because it works! I was once a client of ART, and I believed in it so much that I learned how to help others with it.
I offer ART Intensives because they offer a greater depth of therapeutic breakthrough and better results than traditional therapy. For those living busy lives, repeated appointments can be difficult to maintain. Instead of coming in weekly for one hour and getting fragments of healing, clients now have the choice to come in monthly or quarterly for 3 - 5 hour increments. Using an Intensive model means we have longer sessions but fewer appointments, so that you feel better faster.
Sessions can be in person in San Antonio, Texas or online for anyone in Texas, Oregon, and Washington. Many people prefer to meet online from the comfort of their own home. Others enjoy the connection of being in the same room together. It depends on your comfort level and what works best for you. I've had clients travel to San Antonio to do their intensive sessions in person, and take a little mini vacation at the same time. The choice is yours.
ART intensives are typically scheduled 1-3 months in advance. A consultation for this service is required.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy Intensives have proven to provide greater economic value to many. Spending upfront for quality treatment has been shown to aid in a better therapeutic outcome. Clients have reported more impactful sessions and greater personal gain with intensives. Why? There is no need for the weekly questions, check ins, the 'what will I talk about this week, stuff! We get down to work for the entirety of the intensive, providing a safe place to leave behind past traumas or behaviors that no longer serve you.
ART Intensives have been reputed to have a positive impact on individuals. I have personally seen the positive changes an intensive can make! For many it works better with scheduling for their personal/work life. Imagine taking less time off work or away from family, and getting relief from symptoms! No need to wait a week between sessions with intensives.

How is ART different from EMDR Therapy?
Why Clients Love ART
You’ve felt that something deep inside has yet to change, but you’re not quite sure how to shift into a new or perspective. Your mind understands rationally, yet you can't get past the emotions.
You’ve been meaning to get into weekly therapy for a while now. Still, your schedule has been so hectic and demanding that a weekly therapy appointment feels overwhelming and not supportive. Your needs are once again put last.
You need help —a lot of it — right now, and you don’t want to spend months in the traditional weekly therapy treatment model to feel better. Your life needs to be back on track NOW!
ART intensives support the busy parent with kids, the working professional with more on their plate, or the person who needs help right now. When weekly sessions aren’t working for you, an ART intensive can support you when you need help.
